CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley outscored Southern Vermont College 40-28 in the second half to overcome a three-point deficit at halftime on their way to a 62-53 win in the season finale. A layup by freshman guard Tori Hoefs (Avalon, Calif.) with 10:00 left in the second half gave the Lynx a 41-40 lead and they would not look back as they led the rest of the way to get the win on Play4Kay night at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols. Lesley ends the season 4-20 and 3-15 in New England Collegiate Conference play while Southern Vermont finishes up a 3-22 and 3-15 in the conference.

Freshman guard Shannon Baker (Lynbrook, N.Y.) scored 11 of her team-high 18 points in the second half to lead the offensive charge for the Lynx while junior Emily Fleming (Medford, Mass.) added ten points coming off the bench. Ari Dimou (Manchester, N.H.) had a solid night, going for seven points, seven boards, and four assists.

Leading the Mountaineers was freshman guard Amber Flagg (Windsor, Conn.) who went 3-of-6 from downtown and finished with a double-double with a game-high 23 points and 11 rebounds. Classmate Sarah McDonald (Cohoes, N.Y.) was busy down low as she chipped in with nine points and ten boards.

With the Mountaineers leading 16-11 with 7:44 to play in the first half, the Lynx went on a 7-1 capped off by a Baker three to take a one point advantage. SVC would answer right back with a run of their own, scoring the next seven points over the next three minutes. Flagg had the first five points during the streak and the Mountaineers would take a 25-22 lead into halftime.

SVC would carry that momentum into the second half and extended that lead to seven, 38-31, with 12:32 left to play. From there, the Lynx scored the next eight points to spark a 22-4 spurt over the next six minutes. The run was a balanced attack as Lesley would have seven different players score to give them a double-digit lead on their way to the 63-52 victory.

After struggling from the floor in the first, shooting only 18%, the Lynx would heat up in the second as they connected on 37% of their shots including going 2-of-4 from three-point range. It was the opposite for the Mountaineers who hit on 37% of their attempts in the opening half, but only 27% in the second.

Hoefs added eight points and five boards, four on the offensive end, for the Lynx who saw every player on the roster get a bucket. Sophomore Carrie Feiger (Simsbury, Conn.) finished with nine points and nine boards, also grabbing four off the offensive glass.

Freshman Javasha White (Schenectady, N.Y.) added 11 points and nine rebounds for SVC in thirty minutes off the bench.
