Freshman Shannon Baker was named New England Collegiate Conference Rookie of the Week today, stemming from a couple of impressive performances against Wheelock College and Elms College. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Communications Robb Modica made the announcement this morning in the NECC Women's Basketball Weekly Report. From the report:

Baker's jumper has been a weapon as she knocked down 57% of her three-point attempts this week. In a 59-50 win over Wheelock College, Baker went 5-of-8 from deep on her way to a 20 point performance. She also added a career-high seven steals to go with her three rebounds. Baker finished with 11 points while knocking down three more from deep in a 69-53 loss to Elms on Saturday.
