Panthers snap streak with win over Lynx

PLYMOUTH, NH -- Plymouth State snapped its nine-game losing streak with a 63-27 win over the visiting Lynx Tuesday night. 

Sophomore Sarah Apgar led Lesley with eight rebounds and five steals, one of three players to tie for team-high honors with six points. Carrie Fieger and Chelsea Contre also collected six points, with the latter handing out a game-high five assists.

Kellie Walsh paced a trio of Panthers in double-figures with 13 points on 2-3 shooting from three-point range. TIffany Lewis added 12 points, six rebounds and two steals as Plymouth improved to 3-15 on the year.

After the team found itself in a 9-2 hole to start the night, four different Lynx scored in an 11-4 run that brought the Lynx within 25-17 toward the end of the first, ultimately going into halftime down 27-17. Out of the intermission, Walsh scored eight points in a 16-2 run that put the Panthers on top 43-19, and a 13-0 run to end the game made a 63-27 victor out of Plymouth State.

Sherrey Smith added five points on 2-4 shooting for the Lynx, which fell to 0-17.
