CHESTNUT HILL, MA -- A 32-6 scoring advantage in the paint and 61-38 rebounding edge were more than enough for Wheelock to earn its first victory of the season, defeating Lesley 52-32.

Wildcats forward Kenisha Milton poured in a career-high 24 points to go along with a monsterous 21 rebounds, both game-highs, and fellow forward Kayla Drescher added her own double-double of 16 points and 10 rebound to lead Wheelock's inside attack.

Guard Emily Fleming came off the bench to lead the team with 13 points. Forwards Chelsea Contre and Katherine Bradley each pulled down a team-best seven rebounds, but Milton and Drescher proved to be to much inside.

An 8-2 Lynx first half run was bookended by Sarah Apgar layups, the latter of which pulled the Lynx to within 17-16 with 7:48 to play in the first half. Both teams then went scoreless for over three minutes before Milton and Drescher rattled off five layups in the final 4:04 to finish the half on a 10-2 run, going into halftime leading 29-18.

An Apgar jumper out of the intermission was followed by a Contre steal that led to a Fleming jumper, putting the Lynx to within 29-24. A Sherrey Smith layup made it a 30-26 game, but it was as close as Lesley could pull.

The frontcourt combo of Milton and Drescher orchestrated another 10-2 run that turned into a 16-2 run, putting Wheelock ahead 46-26 with under 4:00 to go and distancing the Wildcats from the Lynx.

Wheelcok improves to 1-15 and 1-9 in NECC play, while Lesley falls to 0-14 and 0-9.
