Team effort lifts Pride over Lynx

WESTON, MA -- All 13 Regis players scored at least two points in the Pride's 77-26 win over Lesley in New England Collegiate Conference women's basketball play Saturday afternoon.

Regis scored the first 23 points of the afternoon, holding the Lynx scoreless until an Emily Fleming free throw at the 11:31 mark of the first half. Fleming and freshman Carrie Fieger each scored four in the first as the Pride went into halftime with a 43-10 lead.

Out of halftime, Regis scored the first nine points and rolled on its way to a 77-26 victory.

The Pride's Leah Murphy came off the bench to lead all scorers with 12 points, hitting 4-7 from three-point range.

Fleming led the Lynx with 11 points, shooting 6-8 at the free throw line to go along with six rebounds and two assists. Fieger scored a season-high eight points on 4-4 shooting at the line.

Transfer Grace Amato came off the Lynx bench for a game-high 11 rebounds in 22 minutes, and junior Chelsea Contre led the Lesley starters with seven boards.

In spite of the outcome, Saturday marked a second straight game in which Lesley converted at a high rate at the charity stripe. Leah Lipschitz's Lynx hit on 11-14 for 78.6 percent at the line, the team's second best percentage on the year behind only Wednesday's 82 percent (14-17) shooting against Simmons.

The Lynx return to the hardwood on Thursday at home at 8:00 p.m. in NECC play against Bay Path.
