Regis College 71, Lesley University 52

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lynx got 16 points from Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) and 15 points from Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, Mass.) but it was not enough as they lost to Regis College 71-52.

The game was a lot closer than the final score indicates.  The Lynx found themselves behind early on but managed to hang around for the most game.  Five minutes into the game the Lynx found themselves down eight points.  The game went back and forth from that point on and with five minutes left in the game the Lynx were only down ten points.

Regis was led by a quartet of players who all finished in double figures.  Jessica Page (Arlington, Mass.), Kimberly Mariotti (Springfield, Mass.), Laura Sears (Billerica, Mass.) and Ashley Clay had 18, 15, 13, and 12 respectively.  Page and Mariotti also chipped in with 15 and 13 rebounds.  Sears had a game high seven assists and Mariotti was just four assists shy of a triple-double with six.

The Lynx were able to hang close with the Pride due to unbelievable three-point shooting.  The Lynx shot 44% from behind the arc in the first half and 48% overall from the field.  However, in the second half their shooting was off as they shot a mere 29% from three-point range and 32% from the floor.  Due to the poor shooting the Lynx were unable to crawl back and Regis was able to run away with it.

The Lynx look to get back to their winning ways on Friday, December 1st when they host Maine Maritime Academy.  For more information on the Lesley women's basketball team please go to their website.
