Leakeas records double-double over Bay Path

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, Mass.) had 17 points and 10 rebounds, completing her second double-double of the season, and the Lynx rolled over the Bay Path Wildcats 67-44.

Leakeas got support from Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) who had a career high 16 points, and Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) who chipped in with seven points and five rebounds. 

Bay Path was led by Jessica Hunt (Madison, Conn.) who had a game-high 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.  Chrissy Ordyna (Great Barrington, Mass.) added 18 points for the Wildcats.

The Lynx cruised from the start of the game shooting 48% from the field in the first half.  At halftime Lesley led by 11, 33-22, and from there they continued to pour it on.  The Lynx defense forced 27 Wildcat turnovers.  Lesley's defense was led by Leakeas who had five steals and Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) who chipped in with four steals.

Bay Path had shooting woes all game, shooting a meager 28% from the floor and 12% from the three-point land.  Lesley was able to capitalize on the misses as they out-rebounded Bay Path 45-36.  The Lynx got a complete team rebound on the glass.  Every single Lynx player had at least two rebounds.

Lesley hopes to put together a winning streak this weekend as they head to Vermont to battle Johnson State on Friday, February 9th, and Castleton State on Saturday, February 10th.  For more information on the Lesley women's basketball team please go to their website.
