CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) poured in a game high 22 points as Lesley University cruised past Wheelock College 75-49.
The Lynx used a full team effort to breeze past the wildcats as
every single Lynx scored at least two points and grabbed at least
one rebound. Christine Buchanan (Nantucket, Mass.) was the
only other Lynx in double figures besides Harrington, however
Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.), Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, Mass.) and
Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) went for nine, nine and eight
points respectively. Buchanan added 10 rebounds to her 11
points to get her first double-double of the season.
Wheelock was led by Samantha Cummings who had 15 points.
Cummings was helped out by Sarah Brown and Jessica O'Connor who had
14 and 10 points respectively. Wheelock's Amelia Woodley had
a team high nine rebounds.
The Lynx shot a very solid 44% in the first half from three-point land which helped them jump out of the gate. The Lynx also forced a staggering 38 turnovers while turning the ball over just 23 times. Jodi Fralick (Woburn, Mass.) help to lead the defensive charge as she had a game high 7 steals.
With the win Lesley improves to 4-10 overall and 2-9 in the NAC. The Lynx next travel to Simmons College on Sunday, January 21st. For more information on the Lesley women's basketball team please go to their website.
