Lesley almost completes comeback versus Becker

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lynx almost pulled off another incredible comeback.  Unfortunately they once again fell just short as Becker College escaped Cambridge a 60-58 winner.

Following a Beth Pion (Enfield, Conn.) three-pointer Becker led by 10 points with 01:40 left to play.  Pion's three-pointer seemingly sealed the deal for the visitors.  However, that would change and Becker's lead would almost completely dissipate over the next minute.

After in-bounding the ball the Lynx marched down the court and Kelly Harrington (Toledo, Ohio) nailed a jumper to cut the lead to eight.  The Lynx forced a Becker turnover and Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) put in a Harrington missed three-pointer to cut the lead down to six with 00:58 to play.

Three seconds later the Lynx had the ball following another Becker turnover.  It was Lowe once again who scored, bringing Lesley to within four points with 00:53 to play.

Becker was unable to score on their possession.  Following a Pion miss Lani Cabral-Pini (Wilmington, Mass.) drilled a three to bring the Lynx to within once, sending the Lesley faithful into a ruckus.

Rachel Pinak (Buffalo, N.Y.) converted a lay-up to put Becker up three with 16 seconds left.  Lesley then had the opportunity to tie, but Cabral-Pini's three with nine seconds left would rim out and Becker would go on to grab the win.

They Lynx were led offensively by Courtnie Leakeas (Lowell, Mass.) who had 19 points and nine rebounds.  Cabral-Pini, Harrington, and Lowe added 12, 12 and 8 points respectively.

Becker was led by Kristin Karat (Enfield, Conn.) who scored 15 points.  Pinak had a huge game as she scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to complete the double-double.  Pion also added 11 points and seven rebounds.
