Howard Named NAC Defensive Player of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - For the second time this season, Lesley University men's basketball senior forward Malachi Howard (Winter Haven, Fla.) was named the North Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference earlier today. 

In Lesley's three games last week, Howard grabbed a total of 30 rebounds (10.0 rebounds per game) and also posted his second and third double-doubles of the season. His first came against Fitchburg State, where he finished with a season-high 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Howard's other double-double came in Lesley's NAC opener at SUNY Delhi when he posted 11 points and 12 boards.

To go along with his double-doubles, he set a new career-high in steals (six) against SUNY Delhi, and he also had a total of five blocks (1.6 blocks per game) and had two two-block games against Fitchburg State and SUNY Cobleskill. 

Lesley only has one game this week before heading into winter break when the squad travels to Division I Stonehill College on Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00 p.m.
