THE LEAD – The Lesley Lynx hosted Fisher College in a nail biter of a non-conference matchup this past Tuesday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lynx posted the first points of the match on a seven-point run, sparked by a three-pointer from Kai Burridge.
- Lesley held an 11-4 lead halfway through the first period before the Falcons answered. Back-to-back layups and two free throws brought Fisher within three points of Lesley.
- Lesley kept hold of their lead finishing the first half 36-35, with Fisher right on their heels.
- The lead changed eight times in the first five minutes of the second half, both teams remaining neck and neck.
- With ten minutes to go in regulation the score was tied 64-64. A minute later the Lynx pulled ahead 66-67, sparking a 17-point run for the Falcons.
- Both teams continued to fire off shots, but the Lynx eventually fell to the Falcons 117-89.
INSIDE THE NUMERS
- Malachi Howard led the Lynx with 24 points and 14 rebounds, posting another double-double on the season.
- Austin Hamilton followed with a new career high of 18 points.
