Lynx Can't Complete Comeback against Regis

GAME OVERVIEW:

WESTON, MA. -- The Lesley Men's Basketball team were unable to complete a comeback in a Saturday afternoon loss to Regis College by a score of 87-79. The Lynx drop to 2-10 overall, while the Pride move up to a 4-4 record.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • The Lynx were faced with a balanced Pride attack in the first half, with at five Regis players scoring at least seven points on their way to a 46-40 halftime lead. Zakaria Latifi led the Pride with twelve points off the bench, while Joshua Perez and Jalil Wilkerson each scored nine. The Lynx were led by a bench player as well, with Scott Barlow scoring ten points and securing three rebounds in the first half and Gabe McCrary adding nine.
  • McCrary exploded for eighteen points in the second half, but it was not enough for the Lynx to come back in time to pick up a win. Barlow added seven more, while Marco Powells also had seven in the second half before fouling out.
  • Russell Rau led the Pride in the second half, scoring eleven points, while Perez, Wilkerson, and Cameron Wilkins all scored eight. Regis only scored two more points than the Lynx in the second half, but it was enough to secure the win.
  • McCrary finished with a game high 27 points, while also collecting ten rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Barlow finished with seventeen, while Powells had fourteen and Michael Langford scored nine points with six assists. Perez and Wilkerson finished with seventeen points apiece for Regis.
