Raiders Flip the Script on Lynx with Second Half Surge

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Men's Basketball team lost their final home game before winter break on Tuesday night, falling 106-95 to the Rivier University Raiders. The Lynx drop to 2-8 this season, while the Raiders move up to 3-4.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Both teams shot exceptionally well in this one, with Lesley having the hot hand to start the game. The Lynx shot 58.3% from the field in the first half and made ten of fifteen three point attempts. Gabe McCrary led the way with 21 first half points, while Christian Castro added ten off the bench by shooting three for three from beyond the arc. McCrary outdueled Nikolas Pignone, who had sixteen first half points for Rivier but was far from finished.
  • The shooting heated up for Rivier, while the Lynx faded in the second half. Pignone added twelve in the second half to finish with 28 on the night, while Miles Gillette picked up 20 points in the second half alone. Davion Fields had ten for Lesley, but the Raiders pulled away with a few minutes left and Lesley could not get back.
  • The Lynx had six players finish with double digit point totals, led by McCrary's 22, Castro's 12, and Marco Powells's 14. Michael Langford finished with 10, while Fields added 13, Scott Barlow had 10 off the bench and Adrian Zgrdja added seven as well.
  • Gillette was the leader for Rivier with 29 points and 12 rebounds, while Pignone finished with 28 and Pharaoh Davis and Nesta Roberts each had twelve.
