Second Half Struggles Sink Lynx Against Norwich

GAME OVERVIEW:

MEDFORD, MA. -- The Lesley Men's Basketball team struggled to keep up with the Norwich Cadets on Monday night, losing 92-64. The Lynx drop to 2-4 this season, while the Cadets stay at a perfect 3-0.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

  • Lesley started strong, led by a quick burst of scoring by Gabe McCrary. McCrary scored six straight points to put the Lynx up early, but Norwich did not let it get in their heads. Donovan Lewis Jr. led his team back in the first half, keeping pace with McCrary. Lewis Jr.'s 16 first half points helped his team put up a 7-0 run to close the first half and take a 47-37 lead to the locker room.
  • The Lynx were unable to get much going as a team in the second half, shooting only 30.6% overall and a difficult 15.4% on threes. Norwich shot 36.4% on threes in the second half and an impressive 47.8% for the game.
  • The Cadets were able to score with ease in the second half, outscoring Lesley 45-27. They shot 50% overall in the second half and only committed 8 turnovers. Owen Liss could not be stopped in the paint, scoring eleven second half points.
  • McCrary led the Lynx in another impressive outing, dropping 27 points and collecting 8 rebounds. Davion Fields and Michael Langford each had 11 points, with Langford gathering 8 rebounds. Lewis Jr. led Norwich with 22 points, with Jalen Olivero adding 18 and shooting 4-7 from three.
