Becker Powers Past Men's Basketball

LEICESTER, Mass.– Becker College defeated Lesley University 67-49 in New England Collegiate Conference men's basketball action Thursday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win evens the Hawks record to 7-7 (4-2 NECC), while the Lynx fall to 2-11 (0-5 NECC).

Becker was led by David Maturah (Windsor Locks, Conn.) with a game-high 17 points. Muturah also gathered nine boards and blocked two shots. Tyler Roberson (Irvington, N.J.) chipped in with ten points and two seals, while Rashaun Liggon (Elizabeth, N.J.) pulled down a game high ten rebounds.

Becker would continue to pour it on in the second stanza and opened up their biggest lead of the game, 59-28, on three consecutive jumpers from sophomore Reginald Finney (Ansonia, Conn.).

Both teams return to NECC action on Saturday, January 18. Becker will travel to Elms College for a 1:00 p.m. tilt, while the Lynx return home to face Daniel Webster College at 5:30 p.m.
