Undefeated Hawks coast on Senior Night, 89-57

LEICESTER, MA -- First-place Becker ran its mark to a perfect 13-0 in New England Collegiate Conference play in the Hawks 89-57 thumping of the Lynx Thursday night.

On his senior night, Becker's Terrance Favors finished two assists shy of a triple-double with 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists, all game-highs. Rajai Leggett added 14 points and eight rebounds as Becker improved to 18-4 overall.

For the Lynx, now 10-12 and 6-8 in NECC play, freshman Alex Perez came off the bench for career-highs of 13 points and six rebounds, playing 23 minutes and shooting 5-10 from the floor and 2-4 from three-point range. Fellow forward Kris Bennett pulled down a team-best eight boards, and senior John Stockton, in his first start of the season, threw in nine points on 4-9 shooting in 11 minutes.

Becker scored the first nine points and opened up a 15-2 lead when Favors pulled down a defensive rebounds and spotted Yamad Roundtree downcourt for a fast break slam that increased the lead to 15-2. Lynx guard Nick Richardson responded with a three-pointer to cut the lead to 15-5, but Becker's lead never dipped into single digits.

Back-to-back Tyler Roberson triples and a Favors three-point play quickly upped the lead to 24-5 with a 9-0 run.  With the Hawks leading 35-20 inside the 4:00 mark of the half, three more Roberson three-pointers sparked a 13-0 run that sent Becker ahead 48-20, and only five Lesley points from Perez in the final minute made it a 51-25 game at halftime.

Perez hit both of his three-pointers to silence Hawks runs and scored 10 of his 13 in the first. Stockton, meanwhile, scored all of his nine in the second, when Valentine Emebo and Matt Gibson each scored all five of their points, guard Marcus Wade scored his first points as a Lynx, and the Hawks locked up an 89-57 victory.

Becker's Roberson scored all 18 of his points in his perfect first half in which he shot 6-6 overall, 5-5 from three-point land and 1-1 at the free throw line.

Lesley takes the weekend off, playing host to Mitchell on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m.
