Men fall to Becker College 77-38

LEICESTER, Mass. - The Lesley University men's basketball team fell behind early after a 19-2 run by Becker College to start the game, and ended up losing to the Hawks 77-38.  The Lynx dropped to 3-8 (0-1 NECC) on the season while the Hawks improved to 7-4 (1-1 NECC).

Lesley was led by Jonathan Cruz (Haverhill, Mass.) who scored 12 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor.  Jesus Trejo (Methuen, Mass.) was the team leader in rebounding with nine and Matt Grassa (Everett, Mass.) tallied a team-high three steals.

The Lynx struggled with turnovers throughout the game as they committed 29 miscues.  Becker converted those turnovers into 34 points. 

Lesley also shot just 28.6% from the floor in a first half that saw them score just 10 points.  The Lynx improved as the game went on, hitting 40.7% of their attempts in the second half. 

Becker's Trey Jacobs (Lexington Park, Md.) hit 9-of-12 shots from the floor for a game-high 18 points in just 15 minutes on the court.  DJ Exum (New London, Conn.) and Terrance Favors (Boston, Mass.) complemented Jacobs' effort with 16 and 15 points, respectively.  Exum was strong defensively, recording seven steals.

Lesley will be hosting Newbury College on Saturday for a 3:00 pm game while Becker travels to Daniel Webster College on the same day for a 3:00 pm game.
