Parker on fire from beyond the arc in victory

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - James Parker (Sandwich, Mass.) was on fire from three-point land as he poured in 21 points and Lesley University beat Maine Maritime Academy 105-87 for their first conference win of the season.

Parker was not alone with his unbelievable marksmanship as Lesley shot an outstanding 46.3% for the game from three-point range.  Matt Grassa (Everett, Mass.) hit 4-7 from deep finishing with 16 points, and Francis Cusick (Lexington, Mass.) was 3-5 from three point land and ended with 9 points.  However, the most accurate shooter for the Lynx was Mark Stevens (Las Vegas, Nev.) who shot a cool 4-5 from deep and finished the game with 20 points and 7 rebounds.

Maritime used a balanced attack to try and keep pace with the Lynx.  The Mariners had five players in double figures.  Marc MacCorrison (Knox, Me.) led Maritime with 18 points.  Adam Haskell (Winslow, Me.), Derek DiFrederico (Millinocket, Me.), Jake Manner (Frankfort, Me.), and Todd Pelkey (Gorham, Me.) chipped in with 15, 12, 10 and 10 respectively.

Lesley exploded out of the gate and they led by 21 points within the first ten minutes of the game.  A lot of this was due to the aforementioned Parker who shot 4-5 from deep in the first half and had 16 of his 21 points in the first 20 minutes.

The Mariners paced the Lynx the rest of the way but were unable cut into the deficit.
