  • As good as Langston was, his counterpart in Matt Wallingford was equally as sharp as the pitchers traded zeros on the scoreboard through four innings of action.
  • In the fifth, Lesley got on the board with the help of a costly Husson error that resulted in an unearned run. Owen Kalagher led off the inning and reached on the error and then moved into scoring position thanks to an Eagles passed ball. With two outs, Kevin Dorsey made the Eagles pay with a two-out RBI single to right-center to drive in Kalagher for the game's first run.
  • It proved to be all Langston would need as the righty's stuff kept getting better later in the game.
  • James Brandon gave the Lynx some insurance with a solo blast in the top of the sixth to double the lead to 2-0.
  • Husson's best chance came in the sixth as Cam Rendell found a hole with a one-out single up the middle before stealing second to move into scoring position. Kevin Connolly worked a walk to put the go-ahead run on base but Langston got Matt Holmes to fly out to center for the second out of the frame. On the catch, Rendell tried to tag from second to third and was cut down on the attempt with a bullet from Ian Dempsey to Caden Shott who applied the tag for the double play, ending the threat with LU on top, 2-0 heading into the final inning.
