THE LEAD – The Framingham State University baseball team outlasted host Lesley University on Tuesday evening in non-conference action, picking up an 11-8 win at Minuteman Field.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rams grabbed an early 3-0 lead after an RBI fielder's choice, a Lesley error and an RBI single from Joseph Cicchette in the top of the first innings.
- Lesley answered with one in the bottom of the frame but a sacrifice fly from Ryan Boyle in the top of the second pushed the lead back to three.
- The Lynx pushed runs across in each of the first six innings but the Rams erased a 6-4 deficit and scored the go-ahead run in the sixth to take a 7-6 lead
- The hosts tied it up at 7-7 on an RBI pinch hit single from Cal Caruso but the Rams regained the lead for good in the seventh, pushing a run across on some nifty base running by JC Espinal.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Caruso paced the Lynx with a 2-for-2 showing off the bench while Adam Budorick also collected two hits while drawing a pair of walks.
- Boyle finished the game 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI while JC Espinal finished the game with two hits and two RBI.
- Ben Respress (1-0) earned the win in relief working the final four innings for FSU allowing two runs of six hits while striking out a pair.
- Noah Terzo threw well in relief for Lesley working 4.0 scoreless innings while Kolten Moyer also worked a scoreless ninth for LU.

- Lesley is back in action tomorrow, Wednesday March 27 at Elms College for a 6:00 PM non-conference tilt vs. the Blazers in Chicopee, Mass.
- FSU returns to the diamond on Thursday, March 28 hosting Bridgewater State University at 3:00 PM in their MASCAC opener.
