Fitchburg, MA- Lynx unable to pull out the victory late against the Falcons of Fitchburg State, pushing their record to 8-14.
Inside the Game:
- The Falcons jumped out to an early 3-0 lead, capped off by a home run by Hurrell.
- The Lync respondedwith 1 in the second, as Christian McElroy pushed across the Justin Dennett with the single.
- Th Falcons tacked on from there, as 2 runs scored on an Eramo single in the second along with a 3 spot in the fourth lead by a Hurrell double to plate 2.
- A strong effort by the Lynx bullpen allowed them to stay in the game until the offense put up 4 in the seventh, capped by a mammoth three run home run off the bat of junior James Brandon.
- The Lynx continued to hit well in the eighth, tying the game on a Drew Gryniewicz single and taking the lead on a Jake Samela single to drive in the go ahead run in the form of Miles Chamberlin.
- Errors by the Lynx caused the tying run to score in the eigth and again in the tenth inning, leading to a walk-off loss.
Lynx Highlights
- The bullpen shined in the loss, as the combined effort of Roy Lenhard, Jaedon Harris, Evan Swift, Kolten Moyer and James Labombard went 6 2/3 innings with 6 strikeouts, 5 of those recorded by freshman James Labombard.
- Drew Gryniewicz went 2-5 on the day, driving in one.
- Colby Jacobs went 3-6 on the day with a double and RBI.
- James Brandon smacked his second home run of the year in route to a 2-5 day, driving in three.
- Christian McElroy went 3-5 on the day, driving in one.
- Trevor Faison went 2-4 on the day, coming around to scoring once along with a stolen base.
The Lynx (8-14, 0-3) have a quick turnaround as they play the Dean Bulldogs at home tomorrow. First pitch is set for 7pm.
