Lynx drop both ends of conference double header to Mitchell

New London, CT- The Lynx drop to 8-13 following the pair of double header losses to the Mariners of Mitchell College. This moves the Lynx to 0-3 in conference. 

 

Inside Game 1:

  • The Mariners jumped into the lead early, scoring 2 in the bottom of the first off of starting pitcher Patrick Teasdale.
  • The Lynx roared back in the second, with Ian Dempsey crushing a grand slam to move the Lynx in from to 4-2. 
  • The Mariners chipped away in the following innings, with runs being scored by De La Cruz and Martinez. 
  • Mitchell retook the lead on a balk made by pitcher Roy Lenhard, scoring one in the fourth. 
  • Two more insurance runs came across on hits by Bracale and De La Cruz to push the game to its final score, 7-4. 

 

Inside Game 2: 

  • The Mariners jumped up early again, plating 3 runs in the first inning on a Brian Jacobus wild pitch and a De La Cruz triple. 
  • From there, 5 more were scored in the third to push the lead to 8-0, as a Yaworski home run lead to charge. 
  • A Yaworski double in the third would be the final run for the Mariners, making the game 9-0. 
  • A strong bullpen effort from James Labombard, Jaedon Harris and Nate Trudnich helped keep the Lynx in the game, with three scoreless innings and combining for 4 strikeouts. 

Lynx Highlights:

The Lynx (8-13, 0-3) are back on the road Tuesday, April 11 against the Falcons of Fitchburg State. First pitch is set for 3pm.
