Lexington, MA- The Lynx bats were on a tear Sunday afternoon, putting up 20 runs over the course of two games against the Beavers of UMaine-Farmington to move to 6-7 on the year.
Inside Game 1:
- Dylan Langston lead the way for the Lynx on the mound, going 6 innings while striking out 5 on the day.
- Early on, the Beavers took the lead in the first with hits from LaBossier and Parsell to take a 2-0 lead.
- The Lynx answered back quickly, scoring on a Colby Jacobs triple and Justin Dennett double to make the score 3-2.
- Farmington came back to tie the game in the second on a Pruett single.
- The Lynx took back the lead in the bottom of the first, never looking back following a home run from Colby Jacobs, along with key hits from Trevor Faison and Christian Vignola to push the score to 7-3.
- The Lynx continued to push across more runs over the following innings, with runs being driven in by Trevor Faison, Jake Samela and Christian Vignola to push the Lynx to a 10-4 victory.
Inside Game 2:
- Starting pitcher Brian Jacobus was electric Sunday afternoon in his complete game shutout of the Beavers. The right hander struck out 12 over 7 innings of work.
- The Lynx poured the runs on early, starting with a second inning single from Christian McElroy to drive in Trevor Faison.
- Colin McCarthy drove in the second run of the game on a sacrifice fly to score Drew Gryniewicz from third.
- Adam Budorick then singled to score the third run of the game.
- The offense hit another level in the fourth inning, with back to back home runs by Drew Gryniewicz and Christian McElroy before hits from Jake Samela, Justin Dennett, Trevor Faison and Adam Budorick helped seal the 10-0 win for the Lynx.
Lynx Highlights:
- Brian Jacobus went 7 innings, striking out 12 with only 1 walk while not allowing a run
- Adam Budorick went 4-5 on the day with two doubles and 2 runs batted in.
- Jake Samela went 3-6 on the day with a double and two runs driven in.
- Home runs by Colby Jacobs, Drew Gryniewicz ad Christian McElroy helped power the bats.
- Trevor Faison was 4-5 with a pair of extra base hits and 3 runs batted in.
- Patrick Teasdale was dominant out of the bullpen, pitching a shutout inning and recording a strikeout.
