Lynx drop midweek game to Emerson, 6-2

Inside the game:

  • The Lynx got off to a good start in the bottom of the first, with Colby Jacobs scoring on a throwing error by Lion's pitcher Jake Morvillo after an attempted pick off to first.
  • The Lions answered back in the top of the third, scoring twice as a result of a walk and hit by pitch to take the lead at 2-1.
  • The Lion's Ferara extended the lead in the sixth inning, driving home a run with a sacrifice fly off of pitcher Jaedon Harris
  • Trevor Faison pushed the Lynx back to within a run with a RBI single to score Jake Samela in the sixth, driving the Lion's Morvillo out of the game.
  • The Lions powered three more home over the final three innings to provide insurance in the 6-2 win. 

 

Lesley University Highlights:

  • Dylan Langston provided quality work from the mound, as he set a career high with 12 strikeouts over his 5 innings of work. 
  • Jake Samela and Drew Gryniewicz each came through with two hits a piece. 
  • Trevor Faison came through with a pinch-hit single to cut into the lead in the sixth inning, making it 3-2. 
  • Adam Budorick helped set the table for the Lynx, getting on base twice from the leadoff spot. 

 

Up Next:

The Lynx (8-11, 0-1) are off Friday before taking on conference foe Mitchell (18-4, 4-0) in New London on Saturday, 4/7. First pitch for the double header is set for 12pm.
