GAME OVERVIEW:

HENNIKER, NH. – The Lesley Lynx Baseball team could not take either game of a doubleheader against the New England College Pilgrims on Saturday afternoon, losing game one 6-4 and game two 20-5. The Lynx fall to 9-13 overall this year and 0-4 in conference play, while the Pilgrims advance to 8-8 on the season and 3-1 in the NECC.

INSIDE GAME 1:

• The Lynx scored first in game one, courtesy of a bases loaded walk drawn by Ronnie James to score Ian Dempsey. They added another in the fourth inning on James Brandon's first home run of the season and a third in the fifth inning on an RBI single by Adam Budorick to take a 3-0 lead.
• The Pilgrims jumped on Lynx pitching in the bottom of the fifth, started by an RBI single by Michael Ciccotelli and a two-run double by JD Normand. Normand's double chased Lynx starter Evan Swift with the game tied, but the Pilgrims were not done. They scored two more off of Christian Rapoza, one on a wild pitch and one on a balk. They would add one more insurance on in the next inning on a homer by Brady Philibotte.
• Lesley had an opportunity to take the lead back in the top of the seventh, with Matthew Ceruti scoring on a wild pitch. They were able to get the tying run and go-ahead run on base, but Budorick sent a line drive to Pilgrims first baseman Connor Morin to end the game.
• Alex Perez picked up his third win of the season for NEC, striking out ten batters over 6.1 innings. Corey O'Day earned the save by getting out of the seventh inning trouble.

INSIDE GAME 2:

• It was all Pilgrims in game two, starting with a six-run bottom of the first inning. NEC loaded the bases quickly and Normand, Harutaro Takahashi, and Tyler Gendron took advantage to pick up RBI. The Pilgrims ended up scoring four of their runs via two hit batsmen, a walk, a wild pitch, and only one hit.
• NEC scored in every inning in game two and put together another huge six run inning in the bottom of the fifth. The Lynx did end up putting five runs on the board, but could not get their bats going before the game slipped from their grasp.
• Morin and Devin Parsons each had three runs batted in for NEC, while Parsons finished with three hits and Philibotte scored three times and drew three walks.

The Lynx hope for better luck tomorrow, Sunday April 3rd, in a home doubleheader against NVU-Lyndon beginning at noon.
