Cambridge, Mass- The New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association (NEIBA), in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), released its Division III All-New England teams on Tuesday afternoon. Senior Tom Muratore and Junior Ryan Pumphret both earned Third Team Honors, as voted on by ABCA committee. NEIBA and the ABCA honored 55 players from 27 different schools in New England for the 2018 campaign.
The recognition caps off a stellar senior season for Tom Muratore, who was most recently awarded as the NECC Pitcher of the year, named to the NECC All Conference First team, and was named the Male Athlete of the Year at the Lesley Athletics end of year banquet. He earned his 200th career strike out on April 7 in an 11-2 win over Newbury College, and ended his career with 234 strike outs making him the all time strike out leader in program history. In his senior campaign, Muratore had 71 strike outs and posted an 9-2 record, putting in at the top of the NECC leaderboard in those categories.
Junior Ryan Pumphret was a force at the plate for the Lynx this season, posting a team best .387 batting average landing him third in the NECC. He was first in the league in homeruns with 7, and second in RBI's with 39, all team highs as well.
