Warner Earns NECC Rookie Honors For Second Time

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – First year first baseman Matthew Warner (San Diego, Calif.) was named New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, announced Monday afternoon.

Warner guided the Lynx to a 3-1 week which included taking the season series from Becker College for just the second time in program history. In their second game against the Hawks on Saturday, Warner launched his first collegiate homerun as he went 1-for-4 from the plate. Earlier in the week he helped the Lynx complete the sweep of Daniel Webster going 3-for-6 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in a 12-2 victory on Thursday.

Over the course of the four-game week, the Southern California native posted a .375 batting average (6-12) with a remarkable 1.037 OPS - .625 SLG% , .412 OBP. Additionally, he is currently in the middle of a seven-game hitting streak.
