SOMERVILLE, Mass. – The Elms College Blazers secured the season series sweep over the Lynx with a 13-1 win tonight at Trum Field in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) action. With the win the Blazers improve to 18-14 on the year and 10-5 in NECC play while the Lynx fall to 13-14 overall and 6-9 in the conference.

Elms starter Curtis LeBeau (Auburn, Mass.) had a strong outing on the hill, going seven innings, giving up seven hits, allowing just the one run, and recording three strikeouts. With the win, the junior improves to 3-3 on the year while lowering his earned-run average to 2.85.

The Blazers posted a run in each of the first two innings before a six-run third blew the game open. The Lynx struggled to record an out as first six batters of the inning all reached with singles. Elms added a run in the eighth and four more in the ninth to cruise to the 13-1 victory.

Senior Ryan Burnette (Chicopee, Mass.) finished the game for the Blazers in relief, throwing two scoreless innings to wrap it up.
