NEW LONDON, CT -- Mitchell College extended its winning streak to eight games with a pair of wins over the visiting Lynx Friday afternoon, 10-0 and 17-3.

Mitchell starter Paul Martinez two-hit the Lynx in the opener, with Ryan Genua and Peter Plansky providing the only offense, and the Mariners batted around in scoring 12 runs in the second inning of Game 2.

Lesley catcher Jeff Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with a run scored in the second game. Noah Shaw and Joseph Santos each went 1-for-3 with an RBI in Game 2.

Six different Mariners enjoyed multi-hit games in the second contest, as the team scored 17 runs on 17 hits in winning their eighth straight.

The teams' Saturday series finale has been postponed due to rain, and a make-up date is yet to be announced. Lesley returns to the diamond on Monday, when the team plays host to Elms College for a single game a 7:00 p.m. at Somerville's Trum Field.
