Blazers top Lynx in two

CHICOPEE -- Lesley fell to Elms College twice Monday, 9-4 and 24-10 in New England Collegiate Conference baseball play. 

Lesley outfielder Greg Anglin continued his tear of the NECC, going 2-for-4 in the second game with three runs scored. Going 3-for-8 on the day in all, the Lynx outfielder has now hit safely in seven straight games.

The Lynx lost Game 1 9-4, with catcher Jeff Gonzalez going 2-for-3 at the plate. Freshman second baseman Jeff Landry went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in the loss. 

In Game 2, first baseman Peter Plansky went 2-for-4 with three RBIs, and Noah Shaw collected two hits in four at-bats with three driven in, but Elms' Brenden Cordiero set the tone at the top of the Blazers lineup for the home team's big win.

Elms' leadoff man went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three driven in as the Blazers improved to 11-15.

Lynx leading hitter Aqib Shah went 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI in Game 2.

Lesley returns to the diamond on Wednesday against NECC opponent Newbury. The single game will be played at Boston College at 4:00 p.m.
