Dimauro, McGrath Pace Women's Cross Country at NCAA Regionals

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) led the Lynx at the NCAA Division III New England Regionals on a bright, brisk afternoon at host Williams College. Dimauro ran the 6k course in 26:27 to cross as Lesley's first finisher.

Lynx junior Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Maine) followed Dimaruo as she crossed in 26:39 while senior Arianna Thomas (Shrewsbury, Vt.) came in at 27:14.

Fellow senior Megan Lander (Ossipee, N.H.) led a trio of Lynx runners as she finished with a time of 28:21. Freshman Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) and senior Caroline McCormack (Pembroke, Mass.) followed closely behind Lander as they crossed at 29:09 and 29:28, respectively. Sophomore Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) rounded out Lesley's efforts on the day as she finished at 30:51.

As a team, the Lynx finished in 49th place out of 57 of the top Division III teams in the New England region.

MIT finished in first place with 40 points and second place Middlebury with 65 points. Both MIT and Middlebury have thus automatically qualified for the NCAA championships, which will be held on November 22nd in Mason, Ohio. Third place Williams (95), fourth place Amherst (127), 5th place Wellesley (280), and 6th place Tufts (207) may qualify for NCAA's as well with an at-large bid, which will be granted under the discretion of the USTFCCCA. Up to four teams from each region behind the top two teams may be selected nationwide for an at-large bid.
