Dimauro Leads Women's Cross Country at ECAC's

WESTFIELD, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) cruised to a time of 25:54 to lead all Lynx runners this afternoon at the 2014 ECAC Division III Women's Cross Country Championship at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. Junior Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Maine) followed Dimauro as she covered the 6k course in 26:26.

Sophomore Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) raced to a time of 28:50 before freshman Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) and sophomore Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) crossed at 29:18 and 29:28, respectively. Sophomore Rachel Asam (Coeymans Hollow, N.Y.) crossed at 32:23 to conclude Lesley's afternoon.

As a team, the Lynx placed 38th overall with 1098 points and an average time of 27:59. Williams College placed first with an average mark of 22:41.

On the men's side, senior Kyle Casiglio (Shelton, Conn.) posted a top-50 finish as he clocked in with a time of 26:52 to finish 48th overall in a field of over 300 runners. Junior Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) followed Casiglio as he crossed at 27:36 while freshman Jacob Guay (South Portland, Maine) finished with a time of 29:04.

Senior Jordan Church (Garrison, N.Y.) and junior Nick Tuccinardi (Melrose, Mass.) completed Lesley's efforts on the afternoon as they finished consecutively at 31:34 and31:35, respectively.

As a team, the Lynx finished in 30th place out of 43 schools with an average time of 29:20. Williams College took home the ECAC Championship as they finished first with 57 points and an average time of 26:04.

The Lynx will conclude their season next Saturday when they travel to Williams College for the NCAA Division III Regionals.
