Dimauro Paces Women's Cross Country at Saints Invite

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Lesley University women's cross country team posted a ninth place at the ninth annual Saints Invitational hosted by Emmanuel College this afternoon at Franklin Park. The Lynx were anchored once again by freshman Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) and junior Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Maine). Dimauro posted a 12th place finish with a time of 21:11 while McGrath finished closely behind with a time of 21:35 to place 22nd overall in a field of 157 runners.

Senior Ariana Thomas (Shrewsbury, Vt.) finished in 23:06 while junior Elena Pereira (Wilmington, Vt.) covered the 5k course in 23:33. Sophomore Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) led the next four Lesley runners that crossed within 13-seconds of each other with a time of 24:23. Senior Megan Lander (Ossipee, N.H.) and freshman Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) finished at 24:26 and 24:27, respectively, while senior Caroline McCormack (Pembroke, Mass.) followed at 24:36.

Sophomore's Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) and Rachel Asam (Coeymans Hollow, N.Y.) crossed at 25:57 and 26:16 before freshman Caitlin Sugrue (Rockland, Mass.) rounded out Lesley's runners with a time of 30:25.

On the men's side, junior Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) paced the Lynx with a 26th place overall finish as he finished with a time of 28:42. Senior Kyle Casiglio (Shelton, Conn.) also posted a top-40 finish as he crossed at 29:06.

Freshman Jacob Guay (South Portland, Maine), junior Nick Tuccinardi (Melrose, Mass.), and senior Jordan Church (Garrison, N.Y.) also posted strong times for the Lynx in their last even before the New England Collegiate Conference Championship on Saturday, November 1st.  

The Lynx will have a week off before heading to Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. for the NECC Championship. The women's team is in search of their seventh straight NECC title while the men's team is in the hunt for their sixth straight.
