Women's Cross Country Places 4th at Blazer Invite

CHICOPEE, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) and junior Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Maine) both posted top-ten finishes to lead the Lynx to a fourth place finish this afternoon at the Blazer Invitational hosted by Elms College. DiMauro ran to a time of 25:43 on the 6k course, finishing in fifth place, while McGrath finished tenth with a time of 27:11.

Senior Arianna Thomas (Shrewsbury, Vt.) also finished in the top-30, coming across at 29:53. Senior Megan Lander (Ossipee, N.H.) and sophomores Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) and Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) finished consecutively with times of 30:24, 30:35, and 30:43, respectively.

Senior Caroline McCormack (Pembroke, Mass.) came in with a time of 31:05, followed by Rachel Asam (Coeymans Hollow, N.Y.) who crossed at 32:03.

Freshmen Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) and Caitlin Sugrue (Rockland, Mass.), running in her first collegiate competition, rounded out the Lynx' efforts on the day with times of 33:54 and 42:18, respectively.

On the men's side, senior Kyle Casiglio (Shelton, Conn.) and junior Ian Barber (Westhampton, Mass.) finished in third and fourth place, respectively, out of a field of 96 runners. Casiglio crossed the finish at 28:11 while Barber registered a time of 28:30 on the 8k course.

Senior Nick Tuccinardi (Melrose, Mass.) posted a top-40 finish with a time of 34:12.

The Lynx will return to action on Saturday, October 11th when they head to Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass. For the James Early Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
