Miller Breaks LU Record at N.E. Championships

BOSTON, Mass. –Senior Leah Miller (Thomaston, Conn.) broke her previous Lesley course record by one second this afternoon at the New England Championships at Franklin Park, finishing the 5k course in 19:38 to pace the Lynx. Miller beat her record of 19:39 set at the 2011 New England Championships.

Seniors Anastasia Lutkevich (Mansfield, Mass.) and Jacqueline Rosa (Wolcott, Conn.) were next to cross the line for the Lynx, finishing 20:51 and 21:08, respectively.

Sophomore Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Me.) came in at 22:10 while and junior Elena Pereira (Wilmington, Vt.) finished the course in 22:17.

Sophomores Michelle Goldberg (Hauppage, N.Y.) and Arianna Thomas (Shrewsbury, Vt.) came in consecutively at 24:18 and 24:22, while freshman Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) and junior Caroline McCormack (Pembroke, Mass.) followed closely behind at 24:23 and 24:24, respectively. Junior Megan Lander (Ossipee, N.H.) rounded out the finishers for the Lynx, coming in at 25:17.

Lesley will return to action and look to secure their sixth consecutive New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Championship on Saturday, October 26th at Bay Path College.
