Miller Sets LU Record at UMD Invite

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Lesley University women's cross country posted a 12th finish out of 29 teams at the 36th Annual UMass-Dartmouth Corsair Invitational in North Dartmouth, Mass this afternoon. Senior Leah Miller (Thomaston, Conn.) once again paced the Lynx completing the 5k course in 18:50.23, setting a new Lesley record at the UMD Invite. The previous record of 18:56 was set during the 2012 season by Keryn Thorvaldsen.

Following Miller were classmates Kat Vicino (Mattapoiset, Mass.) and Jacqueline Rosa (Wolcott, Conn.) who came in one-behind-the-other at 20:36.71 and 20:37.21, respectively. Just five spots back was fellow senior Anastasia Lutkevich (Mansfield, Mass.) who crossed the line at 20:43.20.

Sophomore Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Me.) posted a time of 21:20.70 while freshman Abbey Coppinger (Moultonborough, N.H.) came in at 21:29.99.

Sophomore Elena Pereira (Wilmington, Vt.) and freshman Rachel Asam (Coeymans Hollow, N.Y.) completed the course in 21:37.41 and 23:54.70, respectively.

The Lynx posted a total time of 1:42:08.05 with an average time of 20:25.61, finishing with 308 total points. Rowan University finished first in the event, finishing with 45 points.

Next Saturday, Lesley will travel to Elms College for the annual Blazer Invitational.
