Lynx Picked to Finish Atop NECC

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley's women's cross country team has been picked to once again finish atop the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) standings in the annual NECC Preseason Coaches Poll released this afternoon by NECC Assistant Commissioner for Communications, Robb Modica. The Lynx, under first year head coach Pat O'Neill, will be chasing their sixth consecutive NECC Championship.

A year after graduating 2012 NECC Runner of the Year, Keryn Thorvaldsen, and All-Conference runner, Noa Kupfer, the Lynx return a great core of 2012 First Team All-Conference members Leah Miller (Thomaston, Conn.) and Jacqueline Rosa (Wolcott, Conn.) and 2012 NECC Runner of the Year Emilia McGrath (Bowdoin, Me.).

Lesley (64 poll points) was a unanimous choice by the NECC coaches to finish in first place. Mitchell College (54 points) finished second in the poll while Elms College (47 points) was tabbed to finish in third place.

The Lynx open up their running season Saturday, August 31st at the fifth annual "Fens Classic" hosted by Emmanuel College.
