CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Three members of the Lesley University women's volleyball team have been honored and voted to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference Team.
Juniors Kaylee Deluga (Dennis, Mass.) and Anni Abbruzzese (Croton on Hudson, N.Y.) were each voted to the First Team while fellow junior Sarah Hollis (Hudson, Mass.) was placed on the All-Sportsmanship Team.
Deluga powered the Lesley attack all season long and finished in the top of nearly every offensive statistical category in the conference. The junior finished third in the NECC in kills/set (3.76), fifth in hitting percentage (.293), second in total kills (109), first in solo blocks (9), and third in service aces (20) in eight NECC matchups. Deluga also finished the season with eight double-doubles.
Abbruzzese also enjoyed a junior season that saw her set several new career-high marks. The outside hitter eclipsed the 200 kill plateau for the first time as she finished with 205 on the season while also setting personal bests with 260 digs and 11 total blocks. The junior finished with in the NECC in kills/set (3.14), fourth in total kills (91), ninth in digs/set (3.34), and 12th in hitting percentage (.249).
This is the second straight season that Deluga has been honored while this marks the third straight season for Abbruzzese.
