Women's Volleyball Rolls Bay Path; Win Third Straight

HOLYOKE, Mass. – Lesley University junior Melisa Randall (Fremont, Calif.) slammed down a career-best ten kills to lead the Lynx to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-13, 25-12) win over Bay Path University this afternoon in New England Collegiate Conference play at the Bartley Center. The Lynx, winners of six of their last seven matches, improve to 11-3 on the year and a perfect 4-0 in the NECC. The Wildcats slip to 3-16 on the year and 0-5 in conference play.

Randall swung .348 on the afternoon and added two aces and four digs to her line while freshman Anni Abbruzzese (Croton on Hudson, N.Y.) chipped in with nine kills and four digs. Junior Emily Marden (Fremont, Calif.) dished out a team-best 24 assists on the afternoon while digging out seven balls on the defensive side. Junior Anthea Rathjens (Sudbury, Mass.) finished with six kills for the visitors while senior Danielle Johnson (Waterford, Conn.) finished with five.

Bay Path freshman Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) paced the Wildcat attack with six kills to go with her seven digs while senior Kacie Bayreuther (East Lyme, Conn.) finished with a match-high 15 digs. Junior Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn.) connected for four kill while chipping in with six digs on defense.

The Lynx held a distinct 36-13 advantage in kills on the night while swinging to a .244 percentage. The Wildcats struggled on the offensive side, committing 17 errors and compiling a -.063 hitting percentage on the afternoon.

Lesley will return to the court on Monday, October 18th as they host UMass-Dartmouth at 8:00p at Buckingham, Browne, and Nichols in non-conference action. Bay Path will travel to New London, Conn. to square off with Mitchell College for an NECC matchup on Tuesday at 7:00p.
