CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Anni Abbruzzese (Croton on Hudson, N.Y.) has been named New England Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Week. NECC Assistant Commissioner for Communications, Roger Crosley, made the announcement this morning in the conference Weekly Report.

Abbruzzese has powered the Lesley offense as she led the team to a perfect 4-0 week, including picking up a pair of wins at a tri-match with St. Joseph's College (Me.) and Mt. Ida College this past Saturday.

Abbruzzese led the Lynx in kills in each match as the Lynx went a perfect 4-0 on the week. The rookie slammed home12 kills to go with five digs in a 3-0 sweep of Pine Manor College while she paced the LU attack with eight kills in a win at Salem State. On Saturday, Abbruzzese combined for 14 kills and

16 digs in a pair of wins over St. Joseph's College (Me.) and Mount Ida College.
