Rams Too Much for Women's Volleyball

Framingham, Mass. – The Framingham State University volleyball team defeated Lesley University 3-0 this evening in a non-conference match played at Framingham's Athletic Center.  The Rams won by game scores of 25-21, 25-15 and 25-4.

The Rams improve to 16-4 with the victory and are winners of five straight, while the Lynx fall to 6-9 on the season.

Freshman Alycia Rackliffe (Feeding Hills, Mass.) led the Rams with 10 kills and 12 digs, while classmate Julia Wan (South Deerfield, Mass.) added nine kills and eight digs.  Junior Maribeth Martin (Barnstable, Mass.) had a solid game with 17 set assists and 11 digs, while sophomore Danielle Girard (Tivoli, NY) chopped in with eight kills.

The Lynx were led by six kills from freshman Vanessa Smith (Somersworth, NH) and four from senior Katrina Stroganoff (Cedar Grove, NY).  Junior Danielle Johnson (Waterford, Conn.) racked up 16 set assists, while sophomore Katey Carew (Salem, NH) led the back row with nine digs.

The Rams return to action on Saturday afternoon with a non-conference match at Curry College beginning at noon, while the Lynx host Emmanuel College on Thursday evening at 8 p.m.
