Women's Volleyball Falls to Suffolk

BOSTON, Mass. -- The Suffolk University women's volleyball team defeated the Lesley University Lynx, 3-0, on Tuesday evening in non-conference action at the Regan Gymnasium. With the win, the Rams move to .500 on the year at 7-7 while the Lynx fall to 4-7. After going to a tiebreak in set one, 27-25, the Rams cruised in the following two sets; 25-11 and 25-14 to sweep the match.

Junior Tori Brillaud (North Andover, Mass.) recorded 22 kills while hitting a robust .600 from the floor to pace the Rams while also adding three service aces and eight digs for Suffolk. Senior Colbey Kennedy (Old Lyme, Conn.) chipped in with 13 digs in the contest for Suffolk while sophomore Kristin Hartnett (Wakefield, R.I.) added three service aces and eight digs.

Senior Katrina Strongaoff (Cedar Grove, N.J.) led the Lynx with seven kills on the evening while sophomore Danielle MacDonald (Lilitz, Pa.) added six kills. Freshman Vanessa Smith (Somersworth, N.H.) had a game-high five solo blocks for Lesley. Senior Danielle Johnson (Waterford, Conn.) dished out 13 assists for the Lynx.

Lesley will be idle for a week until they travel to Daniel Webster College for a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match on Tuesday, October 1st at 7:00pm in Nashua. Suffolk will travel to Salem State University on Saturday for a non-conference tri-match beginning at 1:00pm.
