THE LEAD – The Lesley University Track & Field squad enjoyed a stellar spring showing on Saturday at the SNHU Spring Invitational setting two new program records to go along with a handful of new personal-bests.

WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Hailey Von Ahn, Lauren Rudolph, Hannah Nangle, and Bethany Slivka set the new program record for the Women's 4x400 meter relay. The squad posted a 4:52.42 pace to finish fourth overall in the event.
  • Von Ahn also posted a top-10 finish in the 200m event, finishing ninth overall with a time of 28.89. She also clocked in at13.94 in the 100m race, good for 11th place.
  • Nangle registered a PR in the 1500m race with a stellar 5:17.71 finish to place 12th overall while Slivka also posted a personal-best in the event with a time of 6:38.90.
  • Holly Swinamer rounded out the PR group on the women's side with a strong showing in the 5K event, clocking in at 31:40.06 for an 11th place finish.
  • Tori Young performed well with a pair of top-20 finishes in throwing events, placing 18th in the Discus with a heave of 22.65m (74 feet 4 inches) and a 19th place finish in the Shot Put with a throw of 7.68m (25 feet 2.5 inches).

MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

  • Dawson Romito nearly set the new program record in the men's 1500m event with a scorching time of 4:23.54, finishing in 14th place overall in the race. He was just nine seconds shy of the 1500m record help by Nicholas Green (4:14.62) from the 2013 season.
  • Frank Leone joined him in the record books with a record-setting toss in the Shot Put, recording a heave on 9.67m (31 feet 8.75 inches) to set the new Lesley record.
  • Leone also posted a 19th place finish in the Discus event with a throw of 26.89m (88 feet 3 inches).
  • Christian Castro tallied a PR in the 200m race with a dash of 24.60 seconds, good for 22nd place.
  • Nathan Asgdom also ran well in the 200m event with a 26th place finish clocking in at 25.27.

  • The Lynx are headed to Weston, Mass. on Friday, April 5 for the Regis Spring Classic hosted by Regis College.
