Lynx Compete at Tufts Snowflake Classic

MEDFORD, Mass. – The Lesley University track team competed at the Tufts University Snowflake Classic, Sunday afternoon.

Sophomore Mike Fleming (Southwick, Mass.) headlined the male Lynx runners competing in three events: 100-meter and 200-meter as well as the long-jump. In the 100-meter Fleming finished 26th with a time of 12.20 then crossed the finish line with a time of 24.88 in the 200-meter. He also participated in the long-jump where he posted a mark of 5.19 meters.

He was not the only runner to compete this afternoon at the Tufts invitational. First year Ethan Marians (Larchmont, N.Y.) ran the 100-meter with a time of 13.44 before running the 200-meter with a time of 28.08.

On the women's side, senior Kayla Ranere (Danbury, Conn.) ran the anchor leg of the 4x800 relay to lead the Lynx to a third place finish with a time of 12:31.71. Competing in two events on the afternoon, Ranere was one of five Lynx runners to run in the 1500-meter where she finished with a time of 6:28.95.

Sophomore Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) led all Lynx runners in the 1500-meter finishing with a time of 5:53.48. Senior Sydney Alschuler (Durham, Conn.) was not far behind her with a time of 6:01.16 while sophomore Anne Cooper (Harvard, Mass.) finished at 6:14.73. Junior Alex DiMauro (Woburn, Mass.) rounded out the Lynx with a time of 6:32.98.

The Lynx had three runners compete in the 800-meter. First year Beth Caronna (Longmeadow, Mass.), Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) and Maeve Hedstrom. Caronna led the way with a time of 3:12.95 while Campisi and Hedstrom were right behind with tiems of 3:20.97 and 3:23.16, respectively.

Junior Jordan Penney (Eliot, Maine) ran both the 200-meter and 400-meter. She finished with a time of 29.88 in the 200-meter and 1:06.92 in the 400-meter.
