Women's Track Wraps Up Indoor Season at Valentine Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – The Lesley University women's track team returned to Boston University for the second consecutive week this afternoon and turned in a strong performance in the annual Valentine Invitational against runners from NCAA Division I, II, and III.

Kelly Lynch (Topsham, Maine) led the Lynx on the day with team-best times in both the 1000-meter and 1-mile run. The sophomore harrier boasted a season-best time of 3:24.23 in the 1000m before turning in a time of 5:46.58 in the mile. Lynch shaved two seconds off her previous best finish at the Tufts Stampede on January 30th.

Freshmen Nicole Footer (Lewiston, Maine) and Kimberly Arlen (Manchester, N.H.) followed Lynch in the 1000m with times of 3:57.64 and 3:58.03, respectively, before finishing consecutive once again in the mile finishing in 6:26.04 and 6:26.61.

Junior Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) came in at 4:13.03 in the 1000m and finished in 7:11.78 in the mile race while sophomore Sarah Campisi (Saco, Maine) rounded out Lesley's effort in the 1000m with a time of 4:21.01. Campisi also turned in her second best time of the season in the 500m, crossing at 1:42.07.

The race was the last of the indoor season for the Lynx and will return to the track on Saturday, April 2nd at the Tufts Invitational to open the outdoor campaign.
