Strong Showing for Track at UMass-Boston Invite

BOSTON, Mass. – Lesley University freshman Alex Dimauro (Woburn, Mass.) posted a second place in the 3000-meter to pace the Lynx at the UMass-Boston Indoor Invitational this afternoon at the Reggie Lewis Invitational. Running in her first collegiate race, Dimauro edged Brandeis University sophomore Lydia McCaleb by .53 to claim the second position.

Dimauro's time was posted at 11:00.38, but the race was run a lap short due to an inadvertent error.

Lynx senior Arianna Thomas (Shrewsbury, Vt.) ran a strong 1-mile as she posted a personal-record with a time of 6:17.51. Sophomore Sydney Altschuler (Durham, Conn.) joined Thomas in the 1-mile, as she crossed the line at 6:49.95.

Freshman Caitlin Sugrue (Rockland, Mass.) ran the 60-meter dash, finishing in 9.72 seconds.

On the men's side, senior Nick Tuccinardi (Melrose, Mass.) posted a personal-best time of 1:01.15 in the 400-meter to round out Lesley's day.

The Lynx will return to action in the second semester when they head to nearby MIT for the Art Farnham Invitational on Saturday, January 24th
