Cambridge, Mass-  The Lesley University Women's Tennis team fell to Suffolk University 7-2 Monday evening.  It was the second meeting in five days for the two teams, and despite a stronger showing from the Lynx, Suffolk proved to be too strong.  Lesley claimed the first victory of the night in the doubles portion, but the Rams were able cruise through the singles for the victory.  

Senior duo Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, MA) and Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, MA) won the NO. 1 doubles match 8-3 over Isabel Rathlev and Elena Cisernos Garcia.

Suffolk claimed the final two doubles matches of the night when Delaney Dunlap and Kelley Hardy trumped Lesley's Maddie Abbott (Portland, ME) and Jessica Russo (Watertown, MA) 8-1, followed by Danlyn Medou and Ahilya Malitotro blanking Sarah Staton (Manchester, MA) and Rachel Miningham (Hopedale, MA) 8-0.  

"Suffolk is a very tough team and it's always a challenge playing them because they have a deep bench," said head coach Shawna Sarson. "The team played smart tennis and that gave themselves the opportunity to get better with this match.  Today will help us with our upcoming matches," she concluded. 

The Rams rattled off four consecutive singles victories to secure the win. Meagn French defeated Tea Ryder, 6-1, 6-1 in the sixth spot. Medou claimed a 6-0, 6-2 win versus Stanton in the fifth position and Hardy locked up the win with a 6-4, 6-2 triumph over Russo on court four.  Dunlap continued the winning ways for Suffolk with the ace recording a 6-0, 6-3, decision versus Kiddie.

Pereira defeated Rathlev, 6-2, 6-0, at No. 3 to break up the Rams' consecutive victories, before Cisnoers Garcia ended the night with a 6-4, 6-2 win over Abbott to seal the 7-2 fate for Suffolk. 

Lesley next hosts Wentworth Institute of Technology on Wednesday evening beginning at 7:30pm. Suffolk heads to Newport, Rhode Island, Thursday, Oct. 5 for it's next match.
