CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- The Lesley Univeristy womens tennis team select three to lead the tennis progam this upcoming season. Junior Jessica Russo will join seniors Caroline Kiddie and Theresa Pereira, and look to guide their team back to the NECC Championship match this season. Kiddie will be a second year team captain and bring experience from last season.

"Caroline has done a tremendous job as captain over the last year with her dedication to pushing our team to the next level," says Coach of the Year Shawna Sarson. "She will continue to help grow the team and I believe be a great role model for Jessica and Theresa in showing them the next steps to becoming great leaders."

First year captains Russo and Pereira will work with Kiddie to be role model teammates and players that will elevate the group.  "Jessica has shown the team what it means to be mentally tough and hard working," says Head Coach Sarson.  "Theresa has done a great job bringing the team together and motivating the group, whether it be pregame speeches or notes, she finds a way to get us working together."

Last season, Kiddie and Pereira were named to the NECC Doubles First Team going 6-4 and primarily were slated in the top position.   Kiddie was also named to the NECC Singles First Team.
