Women's Tennis Places Four on NECC All-Conference, Sarson Voted Coach of the Year

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Four members of the Lesley University women's tennis team have been named to the New England Collegiate Conference All-Conference team, announced today by Assistant Commissioner for Media Relations Rebecca Mullen.

Junior Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) and freshman Maddie Abbott (Portland, Maine) were each voted to the First Team Singles while the duo of Kiddie and junior Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) along with the tandem of Abbott and senior Carlyn Barker (Temecula, Calif.) were each named to the First Team Doubles.

Lynx second year head coach Shawna Sarson was also honored as she was voted by her peers as the Coach of the Year. Abbott was also named to the NECC All-Sportsmanship Team.

This marks the third straight season Kiddie was named to the First Team in Singles and Doubles. The junior finished the regular season with a 8-3 overall record and a 4-1 conference mark at No. 1 singles play.

Abbott made an immediate impact in her first season in a Lynx uniform, posting a 7-3 overall singles record, including a 4-1 mark in conference matches.

Kiddie and Pereira teamed up to go 6-4 overall in doubles play, primarily playing in the top position, including a 2-2 conference ledger. Abbott and Barker teamed up to 6-2 overall on the season, including a perfect 4-0 in the No. 2 slot.
