Kiddie, Abbott Sweep NECC Weekly Awards

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – For the second time this season, two members of the Lesley University women's tennis team have swept the New England Collegiate Conference Weekly Awards. Junior Caroline Kiddie (Scituate, Mass.) has been named NECC Player of the Week while freshman Maddie Abbott (Portland, Maine) has been recognized as the NECC Rookie of the Week.

This marks Kiddie's second consecutive weekly honor while Abbott earns her second distinction of the season. Abbot and junior Theresa Pereira (Hopedale, Mass.) swept the Weekly Awards back on September 12th.

The Lynx will return to NECC action on Tuesday when they travel to Regis College for a 5:00p match with the Pride.

NECC WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Caroline Kiddie, Lesley (Jr., Scituate, Mass.) - Kiddie earns her second NECC Player of the Week honor in a row after helping carry the Lynx to a 1-0 start in conference play last week. Kiddie earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory in the top singles flight and triumphed 8-3 in top doubles in Lesley's lone match of the week.

NECC WOMEN'S TENNIS ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Maddie Abbott, Lesley (Fr., Portland, Maine) - Abbott picks up her second NECC Rookie of the Week honor of the season after earning victories at No. 2 singles and doubles in a 9-0 victory over Becker last week. Abbott cruised to an 8-1 decision in doubles play before earning a 6-3, 6-2 decision in singles play.
